Dimapur, Nagaland

Nagaland’s largest city, Dimapur isn’t a very big destination on the tourist map but it remains the most well-connected cities in the state.

With a major railway junction, airport and a strong network of buses, Dimapur is a gateway to Nagaland.

It is also where you can get your inner-line permit to travel further into the state.

About 70 km south east of Dimapur is the state’s capital, Kohima.

Don’t let the distances fool you in Nagaland. Dimapur-Kohima will take you anywhere around three hours by a share-cab thanks to the poor condition of the roads and a largely uphill drive.
