Cherrapunji (Sohra), Meghalaya

As a child I remember being fascinated reading about the place that received the highest rainfall in the world.

In August 2015, I found myself in the very place that caught my fancy all those years ago.

Cherrapunji, as it turns out, is not the place that receives the highest rainfall. It is one of the places. Even so, I suspect I had turned a page in my life. Visiting Cherrapunji was on my unconscious list of to-dos for a very long time.

This, by the way, is the weather station — the place which measures the rainfall for which Cherrapunji is so well known!
